How could future technology have helped prevent what happened in haiti. What technology is being developed to prevent similar disasters.

Answer
Modern day technology could have saved Haiti. The reason they suffered such terrible losses was because their buildings were poorly constructed. They were not ready.

I'm sure that any new buildings in Haiti will be constructed to withstand future earthquakes.

I need to know a detailed description of the difference between information systems and information technology. I need a reliable website source. Please help! :)

Answer
Information Systems (IS) is an academic/professional discipline bridging the business field and the well-defined computer science field that is evolving toward a new scientific area of study. An information systems discipline therefore is supported by the theoretical foundations of information and computations such that learned scholars have unique opportunities to explore the academics of various business models as well as related algorithmic processes within a computer science discipline.

Information technology (IT) is the acquisition, processing, storage and dissemination of vocal, pictorial, textual and numerical information by a microelectronics-based combination of computing and telecommunications. The term in its modern sense first appeared in a 1958 article published in the Harvard Business Review, in which authors Leavitt and Whisler commented that "the new technology does not yet have a single established name. We shall call it information technology(IT)."

What kind of technology do you think will exist in the future?

What kind of technology or do you have any ideas of anything you think will exist in the future?

If so, what can conflict it?

Answer
No one can no for sure. You we can make all kinds of predictions but we will never hit the bull's eye. Did people in the 1800's or before predict airplanes? Did people also predict that computers and the internet would have such a huge influence in our life? Did people ever expect such technology as the TV and telephone and the drastic impact it would have on our lifestyles? '

No one expected these technologies to arise and have such a large impact.

Predictions about the future are based on what we have now, so its hard to know for sure what it will bring us.

Some ideas:
-Computers will control most things, and robots will become more common
-Space travel will be cheaper and more frequent
-New forms of leisure and entertainment we havent dreamed of yet

What medical technology and medical advances do you see happing in 15 to 20 years from now?

Like what cutting edge medical technology and medical advances do you see coming out ?

Media does talk about this.

Answer
Improvements take either the form of either; 1. increasing the sophistication of existing knowledge or, 2. making existing technology much cheaper and more accessible. I think its clear that number 2 is inevitable which means more people will benefit from what we can do today.

Technology that depends purely on electronics and engineering, judging by past performance, has to get better and better. Compare you mobile phone of today with what you used 5 years ago. I think we are quite good at taking expensive and uncomfortable diagnostic procedures and making them more user-friendly.

Understanding the way the human body works about what we can do to control it, is a much harder cookie to crack. It takes at least 15-20 years for medical tech in the laboratory to meet with real people. So..... what are we working on today? Its realistic that we be able to tackle more illnesses but in my opinion, greater life expectancy and quality of life is achieved by improving the way we live. Current wisdom tells us that we should; live in a reasonably clean environment, eat sensibly, not smoke, not be too promiscuous..... I think that will still be the case 100 years from now.

What are the differences between a Bachelor of Science in computer science degree and a Bachelor of Arts in information technology degree in terms of what you are taught, what kind of jobs you can get, and how much money you could make on average?
How do you know the school you go to is accredited to teach computer science and information technology?

Answer
Computer science is much more mathematically based, and is much more technical. You will be expected to know how software works and about grass root programming such as assembler or database normalization to an advanced level.

Information technology teaches you how to use computer software to perform various tasks.

CS is for people who want to be programmers, IT is for people who want to be users or to work in non programing areas of the industry.
