How could future technology have helped prevent what happened in haiti. What technology is being developed to prevent similar disasters.

Answer
Modern day technology could have saved Haiti. The reason they suffered such terrible losses was because their buildings were poorly constructed. They were not ready.

I'm sure that any new buildings in Haiti will be constructed to withstand future earthquakes.

Answer
When we clear our studies in information technology, after then number of ways are open in front of us to chose such as business application professional, cloud computing, information technology, Mobile Computing development, networking, programing, system support technician, web development and website management. All fields are better to get success in Information technology. Just you need to chose that field which is most interesting for you. Try to create an aim in the mind and reach onwards.
Me and my friend ( Mr. Henry ) both are cloud computing service providers in Australia. According to 2012, Our company is ranking on 55th position in the top 100 CSP's. When we started our career in this field, we didn't know anything about cloud computing. At that time, we read plenty of books about it and also got practical knowledge. After then we worked in a famous CSP's company named Divest-it ( http://www.divestit.com/ ) as a trainee. We spent around two years in that company and learnt lots of interesting things such as data security, Performance, maintenance etc. And now we are millionaire, just because of hard-work and patience.

Where should I look for a good online Information Technology degree?

information technology image

Joseph W

I am looking for a place that offers an Information Technology Bachelors degree online that is good but not horribly expensive. I live in Minnesota but can't find many local colleges with this degree offered online. The major online places (Phoenix, ITT Tech, etc.) seem rather expensive. Is there an option I'm missing?

Answer
You should definitely consider attending an online college. Although some might say an online degree will be easier to earn, or will not be respected by employers, that is simply not the case.

Your degree will be identical to the degree conferred upon traditional brick-and-mortar students... and as an online student myself, I can assure you, the programs are every bit as rigorous!

Dozens of well-known, respected universities ranked in the Top 100 by U.S. News offer online programs (Penn State, Syracuse, Boston U, University of Illinois, and so on). Even Ivy League universities are catching on... Harvard University offers online classes through their Extension School.

Personally, I would advise against attending any college that is synonymous with online learning. Attend a well-established university that also has a campus program. State schools often have the best tuition rates and people don't immediately think of online learning when you say you earned your degree at the University of Illinois or UMass.

Colleges offering online Information Technology programs:

University of Maryland UC
New Jersey Institute of Technology
University of Massachusetts
St. Joseph's University
Colorado Tech
Westwood College
Bellevue University
Saint Leo University
American Sentinel University
Kaplan University
Ashford University
South University
Walden University

I hope that helps!!

How has technology played a role in depleting fossil fuels?

technology image

John Doe

In turn, how can technology aid in identifying alternative energy sources to the fossil fuels that the world has become very dependent upon?

Answer
We have been depleting fossil fuel because of travel and industry. Modern technology can alleviate this bad situation by coming up with new ways to find means for energy. Hydro-electricity, wind energy, geothermal, solar, etc.

How will technology influence socializing in the next 20 years?

How will technology influence socializing in the next 20 years?
I already have a few ideas so what I really need are references to opinions on some futurologists. Quotations will also be helpful.

Answer
I am not psychic...but I only see it getting worse.

All technology has done is hinder the communication process. The kids of today rely so heavily on technology to accomplish even the simplest of tasks. We are so deep into "technology" mode that people can barely carry on a conversation. Communication has greatly suffered because of this. Communicating is all through text, email, myspace, etc.
People would rather send an email or text instead of taking a few extra seconds and actually TALK to a person.

Don't get me wrong, I like the convenience technology has had to offer...but at what expense?
